Spoiler Alert: Avatar 2 in the Making!

I am a sci-fi fan. I love sci-fi movies, books, cartoons, etc. Anything to do with the imagination and the world beyond our own has always intrigued me. It was mostly due to my Dad. He was always taking me to Star Wars movies and passing down his much-loved Tolkien and Jordan novels... You could say all of the exposure definitely had a strong affect on me.

When the first previews came out for Avatar, I knew I needed to see it. No doubt about it. I had to see it asap! I tried to show the trailor to some of my friends and they all said that it looked silly and childish and that they hated sci-fi movies. Why would you ever cut off an entire genre through sheer ignorance? I was determined to go, even if I had to go alone. Luckily, one of my movie-buff friends decided that he would go with me. So off we went... and I was most assuredly blown out of the water. I am still, to this day, speechless. I've seen it 4 times. No, you can't laugh at my until you have seen the movie for yourself.

Needless to say, when the class was asked to write a blog about a newsarticle they had found onlline, I entered Avatar into the "News" feature of google.com. And the first article to pop up was titled, "James Cameron Says 'Everyone's Highly Motivated' For Avatar Sequel." My ears perked up, my eyes zoned in on the title, and my finger was clicking the mouse before I knew what hit me. I just had to know! Was there going to be another one??

It seems that James Cameron and the entire Avatar cast is gungho about a sequel. No contracts or network deals have been officially made, but I am under the influence that if James Cameron has gotten it in his head that he wants to make a second one, he Will make a sequel. He is pretty much the Father of Science Fiction as we know of it today. Him and George Lucas that is...

But back to the article... Cameron is off in Australia working on an undersea, cave adventure movie of some sort. Though, I can only imagine that his mind must stray to his lovely blue Na'vi tribe. I know mine does. I really hope the sequel is actually in the making and not a fictional and painful rumor out to destroy the hearts of sci-fi lovers all around the world.

  2. Avatar was insane & being in 3D really made it. James Cameron's brilliant (duh-he directed the best movie of all time "Titanic"). I heard the first Avatar took almost ten years to film? I dont know if that's true but if it is a sequel wouldn't be coming out for a while.
